Abstract:

ITensorNetworks.jl is a new Julia package for manipulating and optimising tensor networks of arbitrary structure. I will introduce methods available in the package for evolving these tensor networks in time, allowing the simulation of a wide range of problems in many-body quantum systems. I will then demonstrate the application of these methods to simulate the kicked Ising model on the heavy-hex lattice.

Description:

ITensorNetworks.jl is a new Julia package for manipulating and optimising tensor networks of arbitrary structure. I will introduce methods available in the package for evolving these tensor networks in time, allowing the simulation of a wide range of problems in many-body quantum systems. I will then demonstrate the application of these methods to simulate the kicked Ising model on the heavy-hex lattice. A quantum simulation of this problem was recently performed on the IBM Eagle processor as an indicator of quantum utility. I will show how ITensorNetworks.jl can be leveraged to solve this problem accurately and with very modest computational resources.
